Synchronized

When you find friends that you just sync up with you gotta hold onto those friends. Those are the ones that will understand you, be on your side, and will support you no matter what.
I've realized friendships take effort. I grew up as an only child and often I didn't know where I fit in nor did I know how to interact well with others. I saw the groups of kids and would try to intervene, but something always just felt off. As I have gotten older I have learned through many experiences with an open mind how to change my behavior and how to socialize. However, I also realized I didn't have a lot of close friends and thanks to my mom who shared a personal and cool story with me I was inspired to find and nourish at least one friendship.
As I matured in years I held onto this truth. I try my best to reach out to friends often by calling them, messaging, or just engaging through social media. Sacrificing a few minutes to reach out or a few bucks to go see them means the world to them and to me. Does it make you feel good, too?
Plus, I am very much an independent individual so it's easy for me to fall back into my core nature and process things on my own; not opening up, not sharing, or reaching out to others for their input. To counteract this I love it when people ask me questions. I was taught somewhere in my communication college classes it's important to take interest in people. People love when you ask about themselves. As well as a church leader of mine advised me to ask many many questions almost not letting the other person ask any questions, because then you walk away knowing more and are in a position to help and serve them. Being genuine, curious, and personable are the simple sweet character traits people admire. It's just the simple fact that that person takes interests. They are seen as being caring, loving, and kind because of their strong communication skills. It doesn't take too much time to practice these skills with each and every person we come in contact with. However, it does pay off in the long-run. It changes our character into becoming better human beings and in some cases we benefit from the deeper friendships we create. Maybe free tickets to a baseball game - ya never know! There is one new thing we can learn from each person, stranger and acquaintance round us. So just ask. Step out and step into connection.
You might just sync up with another and find a friend forever.
Cheers
